Christmas Tag.

Greetings!

One week until Christmas and I still have to buy all the presents. I'm just imagining the crowd in the shopping centers and commercial streets of São Paulo, the most crowded city in Brazil. I must find some time and patience to accomplish this mission. I'm sure I'll have lots of fun.

From Linux to Vista

Greetings!

I was a little pissed off with Linux and it's problems of compatibility so, in April I changed my laptop OS to Windows Vista, the most modern Microsoft OS. I was expecting to have more compatibility and have all my hardware can give. Eight months has passed and now I remembered why I changed my OS to Linux. I still using some opens source programs like Open Office and The GIMP but I'm not feeling like the revolutionary I used to be when I was a Linux user. You know, Linux has lots of problems but it's free and there lots of politics and philosophy in the Linux world. The Windows' world is different, it makes me feel like a guy who buys some frozen food in the supermarket - because the package has a photo of a wonderful dish - and, at home, he puts that food in the microwave for some minutes and... Hey it doesn't look like the package's pic!!

What inspired me when i was 8, 9... 13...

Greetings

Today is the Deads' Day in Brazil. I woke up in the morning and I saw a priest on tv saying today is a day to remember and not a day to be sad... I remembered this guy...

The F1 world champion of 1988 at Suzuka.

But in 1989 he lost the championship for Alain Prost at Suzuka... I also remembered the GP after in Australia.

He defeated Prost again in 1990 and Nigel Mansel in 1991. But this guy wasn't a genius because of that 3 world championship. He was a genius because of these laps...

And this race!

Life is too short...

P.S: If you agree with me that life is too short and don't have time to waste with Internet stuff, you may watch the last video.

P.S 2: Thank you, Ayrton!

Hottest day of the Year

Greetings!

Yesterday we had the hottest day of 2007 here in São Paulo. In the last week of the Brazilian winter, the temperature reached 34 Celsius or 75 Fahrenheit! And this morning I left home wearing long sleaves because the weather became cooler during the night. Signs of Global Warming?

Tomorow we will have the Day with no Cars, when the citizens should left their cars at home and try another ways of transportation like bus, the underground, bike... in São Paulo, the third biggest city in the world, where sometimes you take 2 hours to arrive to your work and don't have decent transportation policies. Good idea if it just happens in one Saturday in the year. Utopy!

Have a nice weekend.

P.S.: Tomorrow I wil use the subway to arrive at my work. I am one of the lucky citizens of São Paulo that live near a subway station.

Supermarket

Good afternoon!

Yesterday my wife and I went to the supermarket to buy our Sunday's lunch. We bought some pork meat so I have a moment of epiphany: we took pieces of a dead animal and paid for that! I spoke my mind to my wife and she answered "Maybe you prefer to hunt our lunch..."

OK, I prefer the supermarket!

Have a great week!

Big Brother

Hello, my dear readers!

You know I like rave parties... well... to tell you the truth, I'm a little bit tired of them. OK, but the fact is my wife and I have our last rave party in July. That party was really crowded! We arrived around 10 o' clock AM and found our friends at noon. So, one of our friends asked us if we saw a crazy girl that climbed on a metal structure and made a striptease. I answered we didn't saw that show but I was sure that we would watch it at You Tube in the next day.

Mobile phone cameras plus You Tube are the Big Brother who knows a sees everything.
Have a nice week and be careful with what you do!

Teaching my wife whow to find a music you don't you the name and get it in the internet

What a lazy day, dear readers!

Yesterday my wife asked me how to find a song that you don't the name and get the mp3 files. Yeah, find the file is easy. First you must download e-mule an install it in your computer. With your new e-mule installed, you open your favorite browser - in our case Mozilla Fire Fox - and Google some verses of the song. Then click over some results and check if it is the song you are looking for. If it is, check the title and the artist who plays the song. With this information, open the e-mule and search for audio files names that contains the artist name and the song title. Get the mp3 file with more fonts. Listen to the mp3 file with your favorite media player and enjoy.

Enjoy

Raves in Brazil

Greetings!

In the last three years, the e-music open air parties have gotten very popular. We can check it at internet parties sites - every weekend we have a dozen raves. That sites also have lots of images and there is a bunch of videos at youtube.

Actually we have really big parties with great commercial appeal that atract more than 20,000 souls to listen to the trance music. The atractions of that parties are divided in two groups. The first group of artists/DJs/projects plays first and plays the full-on style for the people who like to dance listening to a hevier sound with faster bpm and, sometimes, guitars. The second group that plays progressive trance and electro comes after the first and plays for the guys and chicks who appreciete to listen to psychedelic music. In that parties the tired ravers can find a chill out tent where they can take a nap listening to ambient e-music. In Brasil you we also find smaller parties - known as pvt parties - and three to five days e-music festivals.

OK, check DJ Eskimo playing at a Brazilian rave party to have an idea how that parties look.

Brazilian Tunned Cars: Saveiro Amarela from Indaiatuba

Good Morning!

I guess you don't know that car tunning is verry popular in Brazil, but the middle Brazilian man don't have enough money to buy a cool car and tune it, so they buy cheap cars - I would say crap cars but I don't want to hurt that men's feelings becasue they love their fantastic machines - and tune them. The objective ot that intrepid pilots is to see an Audi, a BMW, a Mercedez or a competion motorbike eating their dust.

Youtube keyword: saveiro amarela.
